Students are using writer's workshop to investigate their five senses.
Third and fourth students at Service Valley are writing in gratitude journals to learn the writing process of a paragraph. Each paragraph must contain a topic sentence, three juicy details, and a concluding sentence.

Today I am thankful for the sense of touch and our apple investigation. First, the outside of the apple feels bumpy, slick, and cold. Second, the inside of the apple is wet and rough. Finally, the caramel topping is soft, sticky, and mushy. These are the reasons I am thankful for the sense of touch and our investigation.
