ALL FOUR SCHOOLS ACHIEVE "STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE"

Based on 2006 Kansas State Assessments, all four attendance centers in USD #504 (Oswego High School, Oswego Middle School, Neosho Heights Elementary and Service Valley Elementary) met Annual Yearly Progress standards as established by the federal No Child Left Behind legislation.
No Child Left Behind requires that all students in Grades 3 through 8 and one grade at the high school level be assessed annually in both Reading and Math to determine if the school and the entire school district make sufficient gains to achieve standards that increase each year.
Additionally, students at all four USD #504 schools achieved the Standard of Excellence with Service Valley Elementary, Neosho Heights Elementary and Oswego High School attaining the new "Building-Wide Standard of Excellence" for Reading. The Standard of Excellence is issued when the required percentage of students score at the "exemplary" with a maximum percent allowed at the "academic "warning" level.
