Operation Lifesaver
The Mock Car Wreck

On Wednesday, April 16, 2008, the seniors and some of the Labette lifesavers volunteered with the operation lifesaver at the Oswego High School gravel parking lot. Most of the local volunteer firefighters participated in the mock car crash. Some of the Labette EMT's lent a hand as well as Med-Flight out of Parsons. Brandon Conrad was the local law enforcement that also volunteered. The selected seniors to participate were Caleb Hays, Beth Coppock, Ashley Walker, and Nikki Modesitt. The rest of the students were released from class at ten o' clock to watch the mock car wreck.
The senior actors were very surreal. The operation had a great impact on the rest of the students. Most said that the biggest impact was when their fellow student Nikki Modesitt was raised into the hearse. The purpose of this event was to show the high school students the effects of drunk driving.
