Jalapeno Peppers and Tomatoes For Sale!
September 15, 2009
K/1 students spent time outside with our first task harvesting sunflowers. Harvesting sunflower seeds is no easy task but the end result yielded a wagon full of seeds to use for replanting, and setting out for the birds in the winter.
Our next job was to pick tomatoes. We picked a tray full of tomatoes and yes….. some of them were green. We are into the third week of September and the tomato plants are still full of tomatoes that need to be picked every few days.
Our final job for the day took us to the Jalapeno peppers. Students tried to pick only the peppers that measured the same length as their pointer finger.
Jalapeno peppers are being sold for $1.00 a baggy.
Tomatoes are 25 cent a piece or 5 for a dollar.
And if you would like some sunflower seeds to plant next spring. Let us know. We have plenty to share!
