K/1 students are on the way to do our chores. We are taking care of the chickens and the rabbits.
We are waiting to get in the hen house to start our chores.
Sammie lifted the door for the chickens and the rabbits so they can get out of the hen house during the day.
We let the chickens out during the day. Chickens need 14 hours of light to help them lay eggs.
Maya is gathering the eggs to take them to Mrs. Smith in the kitchen.
We gathered one chicken egg every day. Altogether we found five eggs for the week.
We are filling up the bucket for the chickens so they can have fresh water. Chickens also need fresh water to help them lay eggs.
Kainen is giving the hens one scoop of Comp-u-lay and one scoop of poultry scratch grain. We also feed the rabbits one scoop of rabbit food.
In the afternoon we herd the rabbits, Butterfinger and Oreo, and the chickens back into the hen house for the night.
Our chores are done for the day. We will start again tomorrow.
