Final Day of Harvest

With Old Man Winter knocking LOUDLY at our door, we thought it best to start preparing our gardens for next Spring. With this in mind we started by first harvesting all the vegetables from the garden.... and little did we know how many we actually had left.
We ended up with one wagon full of Jalapenos and a cart full of green tomatoes... which will come in very handy for Ms. Catherine's now famous Chow-Chow! We also had more than enough watermelon for a school wide watermelon feed today.
When we finally finished picking all our produce the students got busy pulling plants, cages, and fence posts so I could start tilling our large in ground garden. Most of the school was outside this afternoon to help dig out the remaining dirt in our flower beds as well.
Our next project will be developing a soil mixture to put into our gardens before the first snow.
