Freshmen interviewed each other on one of many "Character Education Fridays" in English I. The student chose the people they knew the least about and asked several questions, beginning on a surface level then moving to deeper levels. The goal of this exercise was to see how much they have in common with their classmates. The process ended with students making connections to everyone in the class who had similar interests or experiences by drawing lines on the white board. Although each person is unique, these freshmen learned they are not all that different from those they share the hallway and classroom with. The visual proof was all over the white board.
