OJSHS is putting a spotlight on respect! This year OJSHS is taking ACTION, not just talking about the qualities of good character and compassion. Right now we are putting a spotlight on and recognizing the respectful actions of Josie Boulware. Josie is currently a junior and is involved in cheerleading, student council, NHS, FCCLA, Science Club, KAY Club, TRIO, chess, and scholars’ bowl. In and out of these organizations, Josie maintains a respectful attitude that is to be admired. When asked what respect means to her, she explains, “To me, respect means being kind and a friend to everyone, even when it is difficult. It would be much easier not to care, but I ask how I would feel if someone treated me that way. The golden rule really does work!” Josie’s teachers report that she is welcoming and kind to other students. She goes out of her way to make others feel supported. She is the reason someone will smile each day. Josie says, “OJSHS is very welcoming and family based! We always have open arms and support each other in everything we do.” We are thrilled to celebrate Josie’s respectful actions and support her as she would like to attend LCC to get her basic education, and then pursue a four year degree. Eventually, she would love to travel and study abroad. Thank you, Josie, for spotlighting respect!
