OJSHS is putting a spotlight on responsibility!  This year OJSHS is taking ACTION, not just talking about the qualities of good character and compassion.  Right now we are putting a spotlight on and recognizing the responsible actions of Angel Thompson.  Angel is currently a 7th grade student. Angel loves helping others, and it is evident in her actions.  Teachers report that they see her picking up trash, helping clean after lunch, and assisting other students.  Angel comments, β€œ I like doing work and helping the custodians.”  When asked what responsibility means to her, she says, β€œIt is doing what is right and not taking things that are not yours.”  Angel demonstrated this very action when she found a $10 bill in the commons area and immediately turned it in to the office.  She knew it was not hers and wanted the owner to have it.  Our school appreciates this type of responsibility.  Angel says in the future she would like to help kids, and she hopes to be involved in Special Olympics.  Thank you, Angel, for spotlighting responsibility!
