Our high school cross country runners traveled to Lawrence today to compete in the Rim Rock Classic Race. Five states were represented in the meet today. Our kids ran against runners from Colorado, Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas. The Rim Rock Classic is one of the premier cross country races in the United States for high school runners. It also presents the toughest course that they have run in their short careers. Maybe the toughest they will ever run. The field
was very talented and big for both races today. In the girls race 376 runners competed. The boys saw 503 compete. It was an extremely productive and successful race for our three runners. Running today was Chloe Rhodenbuagh, Kaden Esposito and Kross Fuller. Chloe would start the day in the girls varsity blue division. Chloe ran a season best and career best time of 26:17.31. This would place her in the 290th position. The boys would run right after Chloe in the boys varsity blue division. Kaden Esposito would cross the line first for the Indians with a season best and career best time of 20:29.18. Good enough for 253rd place. Kross Fuller would also run his career best and season best time and place 446th. His time was 23:45.07. I couldn't be more proud of these three. They knocked it out of the park with their effort today. This course will challenge you with many steep hills . They did not let that stop them however. They are to be commended for the quality of race they ran today. They were great representatives of our school on and off the course. Thank you to all the parents that attended and helped out with snacks, water and gatorade. Also for all of the encouragement you provided to all our runners. Was awesome to have you there getting involved in the race. Thank you also to the administration for letting us go compete in this race. Another highlight of the day was getting to see Molly Fuller. I don't think I have seen her since she graduated. Thank you for reaching out to me Molly. Was great to see you.
