The Labette County Health Department has exempted the county from the state-wide mask requirements and the City of Oswego has concurred. With that, we will once again open up our summer weight and athletic workouts beginning tomorrow (Tuesday, July 7th). KSHSAA has recommended the wearing of masks pending local control. Participants are welcome to wear masks but masks will not be required. Our coaches will continue to clean equipment and social distance when possible.

May 13, 2020 With the end of school, assignments and school materials returned, the final detail of the school year is the graduation of the Class of 2020. Unfortunately, graduation plans have not been able to be finalized as the school, city, county health department and state regulations from the Governor's office all need to be aligned. We will continue to update through this medium as well as through student emails. We encourage all students to continue to monitor their school emails throughout the summer.

May 7, 2020 The last day of school when all work needs to be in is May 14th. Here are a few reminders about returning items to the school. You DO NOT need to set up an appointment to return textbooks, library books, uniforms, chromebooks, etc. Uniforms are to be in a bag with your name on a notecard inside. Books and uniforms are to be left on the table indicated for your grade. Chromebooks need to be turned in to the office. Office hours are 8:00-11:30 and 12:00-3:30. All items need to be returned to the school by May 22nd.

April 30th Two weeks from today is the final day of school, May 14th. That day is the last day students have to turn in work to their teachers. Next Monday, May 4th, our second and final round of hard-copy progress reports will be printed and sent out reflecting student grades through Friday, May 1st. This is our final push towards the official end of the school year. Office hours at the school remain the same: 8:00-11:30 and 12:00-3:30.

April 23rd, 2020 Progress reports are being sent out for assignments through April 21st. Another round of progress reports will be sent out at the end of April/beginning of May. Any missing work through April 21st has been given a zero. That work may still be turned in and the assignment grade modified. PowerSchool is still available for parents and students to monitor assignments and grades. The last day of school and the last day to turn in assignments is May 14h. We continue to remind and encourage students to finish and turn in their work early.

April 16th, 2020 We have had several questions regarding returning items to the school when the time comes. Next week, the tables that have been used to distribute items TO the students will be switched over to receiving items FROM the students - when the time comes. As a general rule-of-thumb, we would like ALL items returned at one time but only after ALL class work has been completed. Returned items include textbooks, washed uniforms, library books, chromebooks, etc. The final date to return all school items will be May 22nd, regardless of whether or not the student has completed their work. Please keep an eye on the school calendar. Many, many events have been cancelled, but some items on the calendar are still happening. Others have not been rescheduled just yet, such as Graduation. Finally, we want to continue to encourage all students to remain in contact with their teachers and finish their work for the school year. The workload is extremely reduced but still requires the time, effort and production from the student.

April 8, 2020 Continuing Learning is underway and we want to encourage every student to maintain contact with their teachers. The teachers are required to be available to students every school day during the specific times outlined in our revised master schedule. The only non-school day between now and May 14th is Good Friday, April 10th. We also want to encourage every student to establish a goal of finishing their school work well before May 14th. The individualized nature of distance education allows each student to take advantage of the opportunities to finish their work at their own pace, including early. A recent email to the students addressed some issues regarding grades, grading and KSHSAA eligibility that everyone should review. Finally, please contact the school if you should need anything. Call the office to schedule a time to come pick up items from a teacher or from the school. Office hours during continuing learning will remain 8:00-11:30 and 12:00-3:30.

Yesterday, the Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) cancelled all spring activities and festivals for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The removal of those items from the school calendar DOES NOT imply that events currently remaining on the calendar have not or will not be cancelled. Many events will need to be cancelled and those cancellations come from different sources. We realize that this is a difficult time for everyone. Please be patient as decisions are made by the many organizations and entities involved.
