Here is a synopsis of the KSHSAA interpretations of the recent admission decisions in effect through January 28th and in effect at Oswego home games. Other facilities may have stricter restrictions as per their local health departments and administration. 1. 2 parents/guardians per participant family are permitted to be admitted - no substitutions. 2. Children, adult siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends do not meet the KSHSAA criteria for admission. 3. Masks are to be worn properly at all times. Non-compliance will result in being asked to leave the facility as well as removal from the admission lists for future contests. 4. Participants include: Players, Managers, Cheerleaders, Pep Band, Student Journalists. 5. Coach’s spouses/significant others may attend but Event Staff are not afforded that opportunity, as per KSHSAA interpretation. In addition, during this time period, the concession stand will be open but food and drink will not be permitted in the gymnasiums as consumption would require the removal of your mask.

Starting this Thursday (12/10), two Parent/Guardian(s) per participant’s family will be allowed to attend HS/JH Basketball games. Please note that whenever we travel, other schools may have a stricter rule in place for their attendance limitations and we will communicate that as needed. STREAMING BASKETBALL GAMES: We plan on providing streaming services for all of our JH and HS basketball games. For our home games, this will be provided for both gyms. The streaming links will be available in two locations: 1) In "Events" on both our phone app and website (note this is on the OJSHS building tab) 2) Live feed will also post the links on both Facebook and Twitter (again through the OJSHS option) These services will be provided for all games, home and away. A second gym coverage for away games cannot be guaranteed.

We would like to clear up some misinformation that may be going around. As a district, it is not our intention to close schools. However, as cases of COVID-19 continue to rise, we would be doing your students a disservice if we were not ready for the possibility of having to shift to remote learning. We have asked our teachers to be ready in the case we would have to transition to remote learning. Please know if this happens, it will not be our choice. We are all aware that students learn best in person rather than in a remote situation. This is the same message we have given our teachers since August. We will continue to release information as we have it. As of now, this is all the information we have.
