Important Announcement
The High school basketball game scheduled for this Friday, 2/7 has been postponed.
This game will now be played Thursday, 2/13 here at Oswego at 6 p.m. This is a Boys Only game.

Good afternoon. Due to increasing student and staff absences caused by illness, USD 504 will not be in session on Thursday, February 6th and Friday, February 7th. This will allow the district to engage in deep cleaning of the facilities. Hopefully, our 504 family will be healthier when we return to school on Monday, February 10th. Thank You.

JH Basketball, Mineral Belt League Tournament! All games are in Chetopa this Saturday. Girls play at 9am in the Old gym vs Thayer. Oswego boys 10:15am New gym vs Thayer. Come out and support the Indians! Go Big Red!!

On Feb. 22, the USD 504 archery teams will be hosting our second archery tournament. On Feb. 21, we will be working to set up for the tournament in the high school and junior high gyms. Starting at 3:30 on Friday, Feb. 21 we will start setting up the ranges in both gyms. We will need all hands on deck to make this as easy a transition as possible. All coaches, archers and parents are invited to help with the set up.
We will also need a tremendous amount of help running the tournament on Saturday, Feb. 22. A couple of positions we need filled are concession workers and gate workers. If we have parents that would be willing to work either of these positions we would greatly appreciate it. We will make sure that you are free to watch your child shoot on the day of the tournament. We have time slots for concession workers available every hour starting at 8:00 and ending at 4:00. If you are interested in working an hour session on Saturday, Feb. 22 please let us know. We will also do the same thing for gate workers. We will start hour long sessions for the gate at 7:30 on Saturday. We will have someone every hour ending at 4:00. Please let us know if you would be willing to work the gate. We will also need someone to announce in the 3D gym. Please let us know if you would be willing to do that.
Last year we ran an extremely successful tournament. We are all very proud of what we accomplished last year. Without everyone’s willingness to pitch in and help it would not have been possible. We hope that this year will be bigger and better than it was last year. We look forward to working with everyone to make this happen. Please don’t hesitate to contact any of the coaches with any questions you may have.

The USD 504 archery teams traveled to Carl Junction Missouri for our 4th archery tournament this year. Once again, our archers distinguished themselves as individuals and teams that can compete with the best shooters in our area. We were fortunate to be able to shoot against the defending national championship middle school team on Saturday. Our shooters shot side by side with their shooters and showed that they belong in that level of shooter. In the history of the middle school program, no 504 team has shot a higher score than the score we shot on Saturday. Would be a great accomplishment if we could shoot over 3200 by the end of the year. The elementary score of 2608 ranks in the top 5 scores our elementary team has ever shot. We are seeing a tremendous amount of improvement in the middle school and elementary teams. This has been really fun to watch so far this year. We are also seeing some increased participation at the high school level. We had a record number participate in the 3D shoot Saturday. We are excited to see how to grow in 3D as the year transpires. They have also been improving on the bullseye range. Extremely grateful to have the high school shooters contributing on our high school team. Shooters winning medals on Saturday were: Matthias Shaw 1st place middle school boys BE, Brooklyn Hazell 5th place middle school girls BE (Brooklyn also had a perfect round of 50 from 10 meters), Michael Varner 9th place middle school boys BE, Skyler Neblett 3rd place elementary boys BE, Odalys Santana 5th place elementary girls BE.
