JOB DESCRIPTION: U.S.D. 504 is currently accepting applications for Paraprofessionals at our Service Valley Charter Academy. This position will be for the 2025-2026 school year and will remain open until filled.

JOB SALARY: Salary will be approved by the board of education and will be based upon education and experience.


JOB BENEFITS: The board of education pays for an Employee Only Option B Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas health plan. The board of education also pays for a $25,000 term life insurance policy.


JOB START DATE: Immediately

Starting today, Tuesday, September 2nd, the bus will be arriving at the Parsons bus stop between 4:30-4:35pm for the SVCA K-5 students. 6-8 student times will remain the same. Thank you.

The Indians will be traveling to Lebo this Friday for their football jamboree. We know that it's a long drive but the team would appreciate your support! Go Big Red!!

Check out this poster with our schedule that Courtney Owens made up for us. Check out the schedule for any meets that you might be able to attend. I know all of our kids would love your support.

Cross Country had our annual Saturday morning breakfast run this morning. We have 19 runners out this year. The junior high kids ran a 2 mile course and the high school kids ran a 3.1 mile course. This was one of the best breakfast runs we have ever had. We had tremendous support from the parents this morning. It was really fun watching them out on the course supporting and cheering our kids on. All individuals on the team ran really well this morning. The times they ran were the best times we have ever ran for our breakfast run. It was a good run to show them where they are for the distance they have to run. We still have some work to do but it is extremely encouraging where we are, at this point in the season. Following our run the kids were served breakfast by the parents. I would like to thank Kathy Esposito for suppling the fruit, Beth Fuller for the drinks and Laura Hanigan for syrup, butter, peanut butter and nutella. Would also like to thank Courtney Owens for taking a great team picture. Thank you to all the parents for their great support this morning. Going to be a great cross country season. I would like to apologize for not getting any action photos. Is probably a good thing however if you have seen some I have taken in the past. I would also like to add that we will be hosting a meet this year on September 18 at the Oswego Golf Course. I know our kids would appreciate your support on the 18th. Hope to see you there.

This week's Indian Athletics at a Glance! Go Big Red!!

Come on out and get your first look at the Indians this Saturday morning (August 23rd). Players will take team pics at 8:30am and practice will start around 10am. There is no cost to attend this open practice. We will be taking donations of water to help hydrate the team during the season. So bring your chairs and come out to support the Indians! It's going to be a great day! GO BIG RED! #painandrespect

Parsons Parents and Students
Starting Thursday, August 14th, USD 504, Oswego, will no longer be stopping at the bus stop on 21st Street that we have shared with USD 506, Labette County. Our new bus stop is located at 300 E. Main Street, the old Walmart, east of Braums. We are thrilled to have our own area with less traffic to keep your children safer at the stop. As always, please use caution when entering and leaving the parking area while children and buses are present.

Mr. Cruse will be at the high school until around 3:00 for those that are interested in signing up for cross country. If you are in grades 6 thru 12 your are eligible to run cross country. If you are interested in running cross country come out and see me. There is also a sign-up sheet at Service Valley for any 6th, 7th or 8th grade student who in interested from Service Valley.

Mr. Long will be in the music room today during enrollment getting 7-12 band members sized for a uniform. Even if you had a uniform last year, we're re-sizing everyone. Come see me and get your uniform!
