This Thursday, September 18 the Oswego Cross Country teams will host our first ever cross country meet. The meet will take place at the Oswego Golf Course. The first race starts at 3:00. This group of runners has been an amazing group to coach. I know they would appreciate your support on Thursday. We would like to invite you to come watch them run. In cross country you are allowed to go out anywhere you want on the course to support the runners. Not sure there is another sport that you can go out and join the athletes on their area of competition. That is for sure a unique aspect of cross country. Come out and cheer our runners on this Thursday. You won't be disappointed!

Final from Moran MV 44 OHS 25

Thursday, September 4 the OHS and OJHS cross country teams traveled to Garnett for our first meet of the year. Unfortunately we don't have results from the meet for me to share with you. We do know that Paris Clifton finished 6th in the 7th grade girls division. Top 10 runners in the junior high divisions received a medal for their efforts. In the JV divisions the top 15 runners received medals. Chloe Rhodenbaugh raced to a 14th place finish securing our first high school medal. In the high school boys JV division Kaden Esposito crossed the line in 7th place for our third medal of the day. Close behind Kaden was Kross Fuller and Trace Kicer. We also had Dawson Conrad, Echo Morrison, Braileigh Blake, Jaden Perona, Tucker Brush, Journey Murphy, Annie Reynolds, Teagan Davis, Karma Cunningham, Skyler Neblett and Abby Holler runner for the junior high team. I was extremely proud of all our runners. They ran extremely hard and gave great effort throughout their respective races. I thought they also showed great team support by running around the course supporting each other during all the races. It was a great first race for us. We have witnessed great improvement each day so far. It is going to be a great season and I am looking forward to watching all of our runners the rest of the year. Would also like to thank all of our parents for their great support Thursday. Thanks you also to the parents for supplying our runners with snacks, water and gatorade. It was greatly appreciated. Our next meet is next Thursday, Sept. 11 at Fort Scott.
